Carbon Suppression Conductor

 

 

 

 

 

Carbon/Suppressor core is the most common and economical style of ignition wire.  Utilizing non-metallic conductive materials to create a conductive yet resistive conductor, the suppression conductor provides resistive qualities between 1600 and 7000 ohms per foot.  This type of conductor is highly durable and provides good suppression for both RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) and EMI (electromagnetic interference).  Carbon conductors usually consist of a substrate of aramid and/or fiberglass coated with a conductive latex.  The table below shows the various constructions available:
